FaceBase Imaging Data

Human imaging datasets are available via FaceBase. These include facial scans and morphometric analysis datasets. Browse a full list.

Steps for Access: Summary-level human datasets are downloadable from the FaceBase website. Individual-level human data can be requested through controlled access policies detailed here.

Cost to Access: None

The Tufts Dental Database

The Tufts Dental Database, a new X-ray panoramic radiography image dataset consists of 1,000 panoramic dental radiography images with expert labeling of abnormalities and teeth. The classification of radiography images was performed based on five different levels: anatomical location, peripheral characteristics, radiodensity, effects on the surrounding structure, and the abnormality category. This first-of-its-kind multimodal dataset also includes the radiologist's expertise captured in the form of eye-tracking and think-aloud protocol. Please follow the link to request access.

NCI Imaging Data Commons

National Cancer Institute (NCI) Imaging Data Commons (IDC) is a cloud-based repository of publicly available cancer imaging data, co-located with the analysis and exploration tools and resources. IDC is a node within the broader NCI Cancer Research Data Commons infrastructure, which provides secure access to a large, comprehensive, and expanding collection of cancer research data. All data hosted by IDC will be available publicly. The current content of IDC is populated using the radiology collections from The Cancer Imaging Archive (TCIA) , as well as data collected by other major NCI initiatives, such as The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA), Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium (CPTAC), National Lung Screening Test (NLST), and Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN).

Includes the following head and neck datasets:

  • CPTAC-HNSCC: Head and neck data from NCI's Clinical Proteomic Tumor Analysis Consortium Head-and-Neck Cancer (CPTAC-HNSCC) cohort and includes radiology and pathology images from 112 CPTAC Phase 3 patients.
  • TCGA-HNSC: Large PET/CT multi-sequence image collection of 523 head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSC) patients can be matched by each unique case identifier with the extensive gene and expression data of the same case from The Cancer Genome Atlas Data Portal to research the link between clinical phenome and tissue genome.

The Cancer Imaging Archive

TCIA is a service which de-identifies and hosts a large archive of medical images of cancer accessible for public download. Several head and neck datasets are available for secondary reuse.

The following datasets contain head and neck imaging data (Collection name, number of Subjects, Data Types):

Medical Imaging & Data Resource Center (MIDRC)

The MIDRC Data Commons supports the management, analysis, and sharing of medical imaging data for the improvement of patient outcomes. The data in MIDRC are open access in order to foster machine learning innovation.

Medical Imaging and Data Resource Center

Note: To build cohorts across multiple imaging datasets
The MIDRC BDF Imaging Hub (BIH) is a data hub, which is a federated data search, discovery, and analysis platform that allows researchers to query and analyze data from independent data repositories or resources related to medical imaging.
